harley quinn and strange case

With a nuanced and engrossing past, Harley Quinn is undoubtedly an intriguing figure. She was first shown in Batman: The Animated Series in 1992, and after gaining popularity among readers, she was finally included into mainstream comic book continuity. Harley Quinn's transformation from Dr. Harleen Quinzel, a psychiatrist, into the Joker's loyal ally and love interest is what makes her such a "strange case."

Her story is tragic and captivating because of her spiral into madness and her terrible connection with the Joker. Fans have been sympathetic to Harley Quinn despite her evil tendencies because of her fragility and her sporadic moments of atonement. In addition, she has appeared in a number of media, including as animated films, video games, comic books, and video games, all of which have enhanced her persona.
Harley Quinn is well-known to everyone as the Jokers' girl, but how did she come to be Harley Quinn? A significant aspect of Harley Quinn's existence is Histrionic Personality Disorder, a type of personality disorder. Hetrionic personality disorder sufferers are "pervasive and excessive." emotionally and exhibit behaviors that are attention-seeking (Bornstein 1998). When Harley Quinn first began, she was known as Harleen Quinzel, a teenage girl with three brothers who was curious about the mental processes of criminals.
Does she develop Histrionic Personality Disorder, which might lead to a life of crime and a perpetual need for praise from the Joker, with the Joker at her side?

Professor Adrian Furnham of the University of London claims that there are eight aspects where the expectation was for Histrionic Personality Disorder. They include self-awareness, friendliness, group dynamics, excitement seeking, good emotions, fantasy, sentiments, and trust. These psychological qualities, such as a constant need for attention and acceptance and a refusal to live in reality, are indicative of an individual with ADHD. Harley Quinn is an exuberant, outgoing, friendly, fantasy girl who genuinely trusts her Puddin (Joker), despite not being a self-conscious or warm person. There are still more symptoms on the list, though.Individuals who have HPD additionally "act or look overly seductive, are easily influenced by others, dramatic, sensitive, believe relationships are more intimate then they actually are, and are constantly seeking reassurance and approval"

The 2016 book Histrionic Personality Disorder. It is obvious that Harley Quinn must have HPD just by reading the symptoms; why wasn't this discovered earlier? According to Histrionic Personality Disorder (2016), this is because individuals with HPD "generally able to function at a high level and can be successful socially and at work." Harley Quinn needed that extra push after meeting the Joker to receive an HPD diagnosis. Reading comic books or watching old TV series will show you that Harley Quinn is always looking for the Joker's approval, even though we, the viewer, know that the Joker doesn't really care about her other than the occasional hit and occasional slap and leaves her for the police to find.

Anyone who knows Harley Quinn is aware of her willingness to do whatever it takes to help the Joker, even if it means leading a life of crime. Harley Quinn, like someone with HPD, seeks out the Joker's favor. When she was caught posing as a prisoner, she let the Joker out without hesitation. It is thought that "the individual's infatuation with another person is the central theme of the delusion." Harley Quinn is willing to give up her reputation and turn into a criminal because she is in love with the Joker.
By enabling her to carry out her scheme, the Warden—a sign of HPD—opened a new door for her that leads to a life of crime. The Joker, often known as the devil, was waiting outside that door, prepared to utilize Harley for his own purposes. One of those demands was to come out, so when Harley did, she transformed mentally and psychically to become fully committed to the Joker
